The AQUAVAS expansion vessels for domestic water are pressure tanks equipped with an internal bladder that separates nitrogen from water. The bladder contains only the water, while the nitrogen is kept in the space between the bladder and the inner wall of the tank. When the vessel is empty, it contains only the contracted bladder and the nitrogen. As water enters the bladder, it expands to absorb the incoming volume, simultaneously compressing the nitrogen to regulate the pressure. For optimal performance, the AQUAVAS expansion vessel must be installed as close as possible to the water heater source, on the cold-water supply line, between the safety group and the hot-water tank, with no shut-off valve placed between the tank and the expansion vessel.
