The THERMOVAS expansion vessels for heating installations are pressure tanks equipped with an internal bladder that separates nitrogen from the heating circuit water. The bladder contains only the heating water, while the nitrogen occupies the space between the bladder and the inner wall of the vessel. When the tank is empty, it contains only the bladder and the nitrogen. As water enters the bladder, it expands to absorb the added volume, compressing the nitrogen to maintain stable pressure in the system. For proper and efficient installation, the THERMOVAS expansion vessel must be positioned as close as possible to the energy source, on the cold-water supply line, between the safety group and the cold-water connection. No shut-off valve may be installed between the energy source and the THERMOVAS expansion vessel.
